Global IME Bank Limited has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Floriculture Association Nepal (FAN) to provide targeted greenhouse loan facilities for floriculture entrepreneurs and farmers.
The agreement was signed by Ashim Karmacharya, Head of Infrastructure and Project Financing at Global IME Bank, and Rajesh Bhakta Shrestha, President of FAN. Under the partnership, the bank will introduce specialised financing schemes to support the adoption of greenhouse technology in flower and ornamental plant production, while FAN will facilitate information-sharing among its members on available loan products.
The collaboration aims to increase flower production and productivity, promote climate-resilient and sustainable farming practices, and encourage the use of modern technologies in the floriculture sector. The initiative is expected to contribute to improved infrastructure, service quality, and business sustainability in the industry.
Global IME Bank currently operates a nationwide network covering all 77 districts through 352 branches, 384 ATMs, 150 branchless banking units, and more than 1,000 service centres. The bank also provides remittance services from major labour destination countries and has received multiple national and international awards, including Best Bank Nepal in 2024 and 2025.
